Intel does not recommend end users install or upgrade the various Intel® Wireless Adapter. Please keep in mind that Intel does not support, nor recommends custom integration of wireless adapters since this may lead to installation errors, connection issues, software error messages, and in some cases it may even be illegal. We understand that your new Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 is not seing some networks after you replaced the original adapter in the PC. I gave up and reinstalled the Realtek adapter and it showed all the networks around me. It showed a good connection icon in the taskbar but still didn't show any networks and I couldn't load webpages. I went to manage known networks and set it to connect automatically, it did. Wifi analyzer complained that there was no network adapter. When I woke it up it didn't show any available networks and the signal was low on both networks.

I'd really like to use the Intel AC3165 so does anyone have any idea what the problem might be and how to fix it?ĭuring troubleshooting, I had unchecked "Connect Automatically" for both networks, I walked away from the laptop for a bit, it went to sleep. When I connect to 2.4 gig the opposite occurs.Īfter messing with it for a while I put the Realtek adapter back in and all the networks in my area were being displayed again. Ī weird thing I see happening is, if I connect to 5 gig it shows good signal but the 2.4 gig shows low.

The wifi driver is showing as version 19.51.0.4 dated.

I ran the Intel update utility and it installed Proset version 19.6.0. Both 2.4 and 5 gig networks are displayed and I can connect to both but it isn't displaying the other networks in my area. The issue is that the Intel adapter is only displaying my network.

The laptop loaded drivers and connected to my home network and internet and I was able to connect my Bluetooth mouse. I uninstalled the Realtek device and its software, shutdown and then took the laptop apart to install the Intel AC3165. I checked the manual on the HP website and it listed the Intel AC3165 as being a compatible wifi card so I got one. It came with a Realtek RTL8188EE installed which worked fine but was 2.4 Ghz with no bluetooth and could see all the networks around it. Model 15-ba026ca, Product id is W7C04UA# ABL.
